Pork prices have been pretty low lately. We've found pork chops for 99 cents a pound and shank hams as low as 78 cents a pound. Watch this video where we slice our own lunch meat from a shank ham and let us know if you think it's worth the effort.
Don't laugh at our video skills - we're still learning . . . and Steve being headless is actually a blessing . . . right?
Leave a comment and let us know how you save on lunch meat.
I recently went to the supermarket armed with my paper and pen to record the prices and units of all the items I use when my cell phone rang. That's when I remembered I had a camera on my cell phone.
I went around taking a picture of all of the labels of the items I use and when I got home I was able to make a list at my leisure. It was a lot easier and less time consuming then hand writing them all in the supermarket.
Cheap snack for kids! Take sandwich bread and top with applesauce and cinnamon. Make a sandwich and butter both sides. Cook like a grilled cheese sandwich. Sprinkle with sugar and you have an instant apple pie. The kids love it!
